Similarities in Fashion & Art by Bianca Luini (01)

Bianca Luini is a fashion design graduate living in Milan, Italy. She sees fashion everywhere and everything in fashion. Love her beautiful and creative way of finding similarities in fashion combined with art, design, architecture, nature, photography etc. Below you find the similarities she found in these 2 photos. On the left Chloe Norgaard has been photographed by Terry Richardson versus the fluid abstract painting by Mark Chadwick. Remarkable similarity, isn't it? I wrote more blogs about her inspiring work, see MORE BLOGS

Furniture Design: Beautiful Credenza by John Pomp Studios (03)

Sometimes I get really excited while doing blog research. I was impressed by this beautiful Rondelle credenza from John Pomp. What a great artist! John is devoted to glass for more than 20 years as a mastercraftsman. I am completely in love with his beautiful designs. I wrote earlier another Blog about his beautiful hand-blown glass pendants.
More about the artist:
John Pomp is an artist, trained as a painter and sculptor, devoted to glass for more than 20 years as a mastercraftsman. He learned the ancient art of Murano glassmaking from Italian maestros, transforming the seductive material into a classic modern collection of lighting and furniture. As an artist his creativity never rests. His desire to create beauty with artful pieces for interiors drew John Pomp to work with precious metals, lavish hides and exotic woods, all age-old crafts. Now a team of his talented artists and craftsmen make up multi-disciplinary studios under one roof in Philadelphia. This passion for craftsmanship drives John Pomp: to use traditional techniques to reveal the natural beauty of the material for a collection that is subtle, artistic and refined. The result is a highly crafted, technically sophisticated nouveau classic interiors collection that celebrates the quality of the materials and the hands that brought it to life. This is the luxury of furniture destined to be heirlooms.

ART: Inspiring Fluid Painting by Mark Chadwick

A few pieces caught my eye this week, like this interesting artwork from the artist Mark Chadwick. This is one painting from his Fluid series in black, white and grey. Love his coloruse and the fluent used lines.
More about the artist:
Born in 1983, Mark Chadwick is a contemporary fine artist who lives and works in the United Kingdom. Chadwick studied Fine Art at Birmingham City University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2006 and Master of Arts in 2008. Specialising in abstract painting Chadwick's work explores ideas surrounding authorship, process and chance encounters. In his current series of fluid paintings, the unique display of forms and colours are brought together by the artist's hand but manipulated through the use of machines or natures forces. Some paintings are spun or shaken while others rely upon reactions between materials or gravity to allow the painting to almost form itself. The paintings are built up of many layers of paint, each creating it's own flowing abstract surface left open to interpretation by the viewer.
